Summary

We are looking for a Tier II – Windows Administrator who will be a key element within the Layered Tech support infrastructure and   is expected to provide a high level of technical support to internal   customers over the phone and via support tickets. The Tier II – Windows   Administrator supports all Windows platform system components while providing   professional and patient desktop support services.

  • Maintain, design, and plan all components of Windows platform systems.
  •   
  • Deliver superior enterprise level client service through professional, comprehensive, and timely communication
  •   
  • Ensure timely response, escalation, and resolution to promote the rapid restoration of services for all incidents    
  •   
  • Through review and approval, ensure methodical and successful execution of change requests   
  •   
  • Maintain network stability through advanced troubleshooting, timely resolution of incidents, and proactive maintenance

  •   Thorough understanding for Microsoft Windows systems and components     
  •   Creative problem-solving to identify the source of   problems   
  •   Create or update documentation including network diagrams, procedures and practices to ensure consistent support of enterprise   environments   
  •   Be proficient with remote support scenarios for mobile users.
  •   Provide streamlined system build capabilities with common methods such as PXE and imaging tools. Remote builds will be necessary.
  •   Provide and obtain timely updates to/from relevant parties   (internal and external)   
  •   Execute strong Problem Management to reduce re-occurring incidents   
  •   Maintain a reliable, redundant, and up-to-date MS Exchange platform 
  •   Work directly with corporate Network Engineer to plan and design VPN, Access methods, phone support, and user experience.
  •   Perform incident trend analysis to promote a stable solution within the environment.   
  •   Other duties as assigned

  •   4+ years Windows Systems Administrator experience including:
    • Active Directory
    • Advanced IIS   Configuration and Troubleshooting
    • Exchange ( 2007 and   2010)
    • Windows Server Operating   Systems (2003, 2008. 2012)
    • Microsoft Windows &   SQL 2003/2008/2012 Clusters
    • Direct end user support
  •   Experience supporting highly complex applications with multiple   dependencies
  •   Excellent scripting and automation skills (SNMP, PowerShell,   XML, etc.)
  •   Strong interpersonal skills
  •   Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and SSL
  •   Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
  •   Excellent troubleshooting & problem solving skills
  •   Exceptional interpersonal skills (written and oral) and ability   to establish and maintain cooperative and harmonious working relationships   with a variety people
  •   Technical certifications in areas of expertise (MCSE/MCSA/MCP/MCITP,   MCTS)   

Education / Experience

Education

      
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education in related fields / or 5 years’ experience in related field
  •   
  • 5+ years’ experience working at enterprise level
  •   
  • Current/Active Certification or previous network and systems experience or associated fields
