Plano, Texas – Layered Technologies, Inc. (@LayeredTech), a leading global provider of compliant and secure cloud and hosting services supporting mission-critical e-business applications, today announced that the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) has included Layered Tech on its Strategic Leadership Forum Technology Committee for the second consecutive year. The Technology Committee brings together industry leaders to identify current and emerging technology-related issues and communicate these issues to association members. The focus at this year’s event includes the impact of merchant aggregation on the traditional merchant acquiring business model and new rules for Payments Service Providers (PSPs) and Internet Payments Service Providers (iPSPs).
The ETA Strategic Leadership Forum takes place in West Palm Beach, Fla., October 16-18, and focuses on every important aspect of the payments industry, including technology, mobile payments and e-commerce. Attendees include business visionaries and senior-level professionals who are advancing the payments industry.
The Technology Committee provides information on technology trends and applications to ensure that ETA is established as a valued information source for members and for the industry. Layered Tech will serve as the lead moderator for a technology roundtable titled, “The Emergence of Micro Merchants and Aggregators and the Effects on Traditional Payments Business Models,” while other members of the Technology Committee will help ask questions.
During the roundtable session, leaders from across the industry will discuss how acquirers and independent sales organizations (ISOs) will compete and/or cooperate with new market entrants. Additionally, participants will discuss how ISOs can offer a competitive solution to PSPs, the keys to managing risk, and what regulations/compliance issues will have the biggest impact on the PSP model.
“Transaction security and compliance continue to be top-of-mind, especially as there is concern about an increased risk of data breaches with so many companies quickly entering the market and becoming merchants,” said Steve Chu, regional sales manager for Layered Tech. “I am honored to represent Layered Tech, a leader in PCI-DSS compliance, as a member of the ETA Technology Committee again this year, and I look forward to serving as the lead moderator for this very significant roundtable discussion and working alongside other members of the Technology Committee.”
In addition to Chu, Layered Tech Chief Risk Officer Jeff Reich will be at the ETA Strategic Leadership Forum. Reich has more than 30 years of experience and is a well-known risk management and security expert in the hosting market.
